Abstract. This chapter briefly describes the Trade Performance Index (TPI) compiled by UNCTAD/WTO’s International Trade Centre. The index analyzes the main actors’ relative positions in international trade based on a comparison of about 190 countries, with exports broken down into 14 macro-sectors. To extract in WTO Data, select “International Trade Statistics” → “Merchandise trade values”, then select all annual datasets, click Apply, then on the CSV icon. See image here. Trade flows include domestic exports, re-exports, and retained imports. Commodity groups are based on the SITC This is a significant milestone for the multilateral trading system — and for the CTD, which serves as a focal point for the consideration and coordination of development work in the WTO.
